Micronesia
Micronesia is the stretch of small but picturesque tropical islands.
Loacted in the Pacific Ocean, it is inhabited by people with rich culture.
Located at about three-quarters of the way between Hawaii and Indonesia are the beautiful tropical islands of Micronesia. These tiny islands are situated 5,150 kilometers west-southwest of Honolulu in the North Pacific Ocean that spread over 3 million miles of the Pacific including over 2000 islands. The stretch of Micronesia from end to end is over 2,040 nautical miles.
The term Micronesia was primary proposed by Jules Dumont d’Urville to distinguish the region in 1831. Prior to this, the term Polynesia was in use to generally describe the islands of the Pacific.
